Mission

The goal of this project was to create a custom station identity for Joplin Fire Department’s Station 7—one that reflects the pride, camaraderie, and culture of the crew while remaining aligned with the professionalism of the department as a whole. Each station carries its own personality, and this design needed to honor that individuality without straying from the established visual expectations of the Joplin Fire Department. The result is a mark that feels both distinct to Station 7 and cohesive within the broader organization.

Intentional Elements

The design draws inspiration from the station’s nickname, “Lucky 7,” translating that identity into a four-leaf clover integrated with the traditional Maltese cross—a symbol deeply rooted in fire service history. This combination allowed the mark to feel personal and meaningful while still recognizable within the context of firefighting culture. The balance of structure and symbolism was key: clean, bold linework ensures legibility and versatility across apparel, while the clover detail adds a unique layer of storytelling that reflects the station’s pride and sense of unity.
